General Questions
What is TorZon and how does the escrow work?
TorZon is a decentralized marketplace operating on the Tor network. Unlike traditional e-commerce, we do not process payments directly. Instead, we use a Multi-Signature Escrow system.
Here is the lifecycle of a transaction:
- Buyer deposits funds and places an order. Funds are locked in the Escrow wallet.
- Vendor accepts the order and ships the physical item.
- Buyer receives the item and inspects it.
- Buyer clicks "Finalize Order" in the dashboard.
- System releases funds to the Vendor.
Why do I need JavaScript disabled?
JavaScript is the primary vector for de-anonymization attacks. A malicious script could potentially leak your real IP address, screen resolution, and system fonts (Canvas Fingerprinting) to a compromised node.
TorZon is built entirely on HTML5 and CSS3. We do not require JS for any function, including the captcha. If you enable JS, you are putting your OpSec at risk.
Financial & Crypto
My Monero (XMR) deposit is missing. Where is it?
Monero deposits require 10 confirmations on the blockchain before they appear in your balance. This is higher than Bitcoin due to the nature of privacy protocols and potential reorganization attacks.
If 2 hours have passed and you still see nothing:
- Check that you sent XMR, not BTC, to the address.
- Verify you are on a real TorZon mirror (check your PGP verify).
- Did you use a sub-address? (Starts with 8...). This is fine, but some older wallets struggle with it.
If you fell for a phishing site, the funds are gone. We cannot help you. Always verify the URL.
Why is Bitcoin (BTC) deposit fee so high?
We strongly discourage the use of Bitcoin. BTC is not private. To protect our users, we run all incoming BTC through a complex mixing process (CoinJoin) before it hits the vendor's wallet. This process costs money (network fees).
We charge a 5% mixing fee on BTC deposits. Monero (XMR) deposits are free.
Deposit: $100 BTC -> Balance: $95.00
Deposit: $100 XMR -> Balance: $100.00
Orders & Logistics
The vendor asked me to FE (Finalize Early). Should I?
FE (Finalize Early) means releasing the funds to the vendor before you have received the product. By doing this, you waive your right to a dispute. If the vendor disappears, your money is gone.
Rule of Thumb:
- New Users: NEVER FE.
- Established Vendors: Only FE if they have 500+ positive reviews and you have dealt with them before.
- Scam Warning: If a vendor offers a 50% discount for FE, it is a scam. Report them immediately.
How do I format my address securely?
Never send your address in plain text. Always encrypt it using the Vendor's PGP key. Use the standard international format:
(Encrypted Block)
...
NAME: John Doe
STREET: 123 Hidden Lane, Apt 4
CITY: New York
ZIP: 10001
COUNTRY: USA
-----END PGP MESSAGE-----
Do not use fake names for your delivery address unless you have a dedicated "Drop". Using a fake name at your real home address triggers postal flags.
